Chris Butler is one of the country’s leading experts on prehistoric flintwork. He specialises in identifying and analysing flintwork from the Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age periods, and has written the ultimate guide to prehistoric flintwork of the British Isles ‘Prehistoric Flintwork’, and is a committee member of the Lithic Studies Society. |
Keith Butler is our standing buildings specialist. He has studied buildings archaeology at the University of Sussex as part of the Certificate in Practical Archaeology, and is currently pursuing his interest with a recognised qualification in buildings archaeology. |

The Sussex School of Archaeology is a new organisation providing general interest archaeology courses and more specialised training courses to the general public and both amateur and professional archaeologists. The School is run by Chris Butler and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chris Butler Archaeological Services Limited. |
We are one of the leading facilitators of community archaeology projects in the Southeast. Our extensive experience in setting up and running volunteer and community archaeology projects over the last 20 years means that we can bring a wealth of experience and ideas to any new venture.
