Brede High Woods Archaeology Project.

The community Archaeology project at Brede High Woods, organised on behalf of the Woodland Trust is now well underway. So far we have surveyed the site of Brede High Farm, and carried out a magnetometer survey at a possible ironworking site and a walkover survey of an early 20th century hop pickers camp. Over 20 volunteers have now taken part in these events, and more fieldwork days are planned over the next few months. We will be returning to Brede High Farm to carry out some excavations over a three week period in May this year. If you would like to take part, please complete the application form and send it to brede@cbasltd.co.uk  or by post to the address on the form.
