First SSA Surveying Course gets underway

The first training course for the Sussex School of Archaeology has been a success. A group of students, including some volunteers from the Friends of Shoreham Fort, attended the first day of a surveying course at Shoreham Fort, with tutor Andy Bradshaw. Braving the cold wind, but in bright spring sunshine, they learnt how to undertake basic surveying with tapes, and then how to use a dumpy level
