During an archaeological watching brief undertaken by CBAS at Tideway School, Newhaven in July 2010 a probable ditch terminal was recorded.

It produced an interesting assemblage of Late Bronze Age pottery (c.900BC) and flintwork, whilst an adjacent remnant buried soil also produced Late Bronze Age pottery of the same date together with a small assemblage of flintwork, whilst a small amount of residual Mesolithic flintwork and later LIA/RB pottery hinted at activity in other periods.
